What it does

Geckolib-Unofficial is an unofficial build of Geckolib for Minecraft 1.7.10. It gives mod authors tools to add animated entity and block models, created in BlockBench, to their own content. The bundled Geckolib library supplies the animation handling, so a mod that depends on this build needs no separate copy of it.

Modders use the library to add movement and character to their creations, from simple looping motions to detailed sequences. Custom Animation Integration is named by the author as a companion that works with it. The mod is licensed under the MIT License and is open source, with a public source repository, issue tracker and wiki.

Installation requires Forge for 1.7.10 only. Client and server both run it, so the server and every player need it in place. Files are published for that single version, with 1.0.3 as the latest file, dated 2024-04-10.

Key features

  1. BlockBench model support

Animated models built in BlockBench can be loaded and played inside mods that use the library.

  2. Animation control

Modders get a set of tools for controlling how animations start, blend and loop across their creations.

  3. Bundled Geckolib

The Geckolib library is included in the mod, so dependent mods work without a separate install.

  4. Custom entity and block animation

Entities and blocks can each carry their own animated model and motion, which enables unique custom content.
