Frame by Frame
Frame by Frame lets players record short video clips with an in-game camera, styled after the Exposure photo mod and intended for keeping memories of a world.
What it does
Players can record videos by holding right click with the camera, and the shutter switches between taking a single photo and shooting video. A viewfinder opens on right click, and shift with right click opens the camera inventory. The Exposure mod is required, and the mod runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it. Files are published for NeoForge 1.21.1 only, and the latest file is 0.9.349, released on 2026-10-02.
The author built the mod around a wish to keep memories of time spent in a world or on a server, in the same spirit as Exposure's photo cameras. A splicer lets players edit recorded clips, and a tripod timer can start a recording without anyone touching the camera. The frame rate is adjustable in the config, so a lower setting gives a slow-motion look for scenes that should seem to drag. Frame by Frame is released under the MIT License and is not open source.
Key features
Video recording
Holding right click records a clip, and the camera's shutter switches it between single photos and video.
Adjustable frame rate
The frames-per-second value can be changed in the config, and a lower rate makes motion look slowed down.
Splicer editing
A splicer item lets players cut and edit recorded videos inside the game.
Tripod timer
A timer button on the camera sets a delay that starts recording, so a tripod can capture a scene without anyone at the controls.
