Fauna & Orchestra

by Owlest

Fauna & Orchestra turns animal companions into a musical crew, letting players tame nine new animals and assign each one an instrument.

What it does

The mod adds a music-focused magic path. Players tame nine new animals, give them instruments to form a small orchestra, and direct the group with a frog conductor. A mysterious character warns about the dangers of the melomancy and asks for help, and later updates add story progression that leads toward a final battle with the Great Composer. Players can branch into a darker route or a biomantic one.

Musical artifacts such as the choreomania bomb are created through magic, and a new crafting method works through bonds with animals found in the world, producing natural recipes. Jars can be hung on Jar Racks over fuel to watch different ingredients. The Jazz Band, the Myths System and animal costumes add further content. Installation requires Geckolib 4.7 or higher and Patchouli 1.21.1-92 or 1.20.1-84.1 or higher. Fauna & Orchestra is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later, and is published for Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1.
