FastQuit
by contaria
FastQuit lets players leave a singleplayer world without waiting for the save to finish, because the server keeps writing the world in the background while the title screen opens.
What it does
Normally the client holds the player on the loading screen until the server thread has written the world to disk. FastQuit skips that wait and returns to the title screen early. The world stays listed while it saves, and it can be edited, deleted or recreated during that time, reusing the information from the world still being saved. If an action cannot be completed, the game shows a toast saying so and the action fails instead of corrupting data.
The mod has four options. One controls whether a toast appears when a world finishes saving. Another sets the thread priority of the server while it saves in the background, trading a slower total save for better client performance; zero leaves priority unchanged. A third makes the saving screen render, which helps when chunk storage on a high render distance takes time to clear. A fourth controls whether the save duration appears on toasts and the world list. Cloth Config API supplies the settings screen, and Mod Menu is optional.
Key features
Early return to title screen
The title screen opens while the server is still saving, so quitting a singleplayer world feels faster.
Worlds stay listed while saving
A world that is still being saved appears in the world list and can be edited, deleted or recreated.
Save completion toast
An optional toast reports when a world finishes saving, and can show how long the save took.
Server thread priority
The save thread priority can be lowered to favor client performance, and set to zero to leave it unchanged.
Saving screen option
A setting renders the saving screen so that chunk unloading on a high render distance stays visible to the player.
