What it does

Fancy View Model is a Fabric client mod that changes the first-person display of held items. Position, rotation and scale can be tuned so an item reads clearly on screen, and the adjustments apply in real time as the player works. The configuration is opened in-game with the V key, so a preview of each change is visible immediately.

The mod is aimed at content creators recording videos, at texture pack authors who want their work shown well, and at players who simply prefer a cleaner first-person look. Its effect is purely visual and does not alter gameplay mechanics. Environment: it is client-side only, so servers do not need it and players join without installing anything.

Installation needs Fabric. Files are published for 13 release versions spanning 1.20.4 – 26.3, the latest being v2-26.3 for 26.3, released 2026-09-19. The mod is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Real-time view model adjustment

Position, rotation and movement of the first-person item model can be changed while the change is shown on screen.

  2. In-game configuration with V

Pressing the V key opens the settings directly in the game, so no separate menu has to be reopened to compare changes.

  3. Lightweight rendering

The mod is built to stay light on performance, changing only how held items are drawn on the client.

  4. Visual only

Changes affect presentation and do not touch gameplay mechanics, crafting or item behavior.
