Fancy Display TxT
by TigreSoto1
Fancy Display TxT shows the name of the texture a player is looking at, on screen, in real time, without opening resource pack menus or debug screens.
What it does
The mod reads the active Minecraft texture and draws it as a clean, non-intrusive overlay during normal play. Texture pack creators can see at a glance which file a block or item uses, and the display updates as the view changes. No menu has to be opened and no debug command has to be typed to get the information.
Content creators recording tutorials or showcase videos of resource packs can keep the overlay visible while they play. Developers who test and debug textures can check their edits in the running game. The display runs on the client only, so a server needs no installation and players connecting to it need nothing extra. Fabric API is required, and the mod is published for Fabric only.
Files exist for 9 release versions, 1.20.1 – 1.21.4, with 1.0.0-mc1.21.4 as the latest Fabric file for 1.21.4. The mod is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.
Key features
Live texture name display
The name of the texture in use is shown on screen while the game runs, and it changes as the view changes.
No menus or debug screens
The information appears in-game directly, so resource pack menus and debug screens stay closed.
Unobtrusive overlay
The on-screen text is small and placed to leave the play area clear, so it can stay visible during normal gameplay.
Recording-friendly output
The overlay can remain on screen while a video of a texture change is being recorded or a pack is being shown.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Resource pack creators, content creators who record videos and developers who debug textures are the audience the mod is aimed at. Players who only want to play are not the target group, and the overlay has no effect on gameplay.
How it compares
Texture grabber is open source under the MIT License and runs client-side only on Fabric for 1.20.1 – 1.21.11, so it covers a wider range of versions. Live Texture Editor is also client-side only on Fabric, with versions 1.21 – 26.3, but it is an editor and not a display, and it is released under All rights reserved. PackLab is client-side only on Fabric for 1.21.11 alone and is released under the MIT License. Fancy Display TxT is not open source, so it differs from the MIT-licensed options in its license.
