Entity Modifiers
by ErrorCraft
Entity Modifiers is a Fabric library that lets data packs change the properties of entities, in the same way item modifiers change items.
What it does
Data packs use entity modifier files to change entity properties. The files work like item modifiers, except they act on entities instead of items, and they replace the older data modify entity commands. Each file states the value to change and its source, so the author knows what the change will do before it runs.
Modifiers can use number providers rather than store results through execute, which keeps values inside their intended range. Floating point numbers are supported, not only integers. Text components with score lookups resolve properly, and direct values are edited and saved as data, which allows player-specific features such as hunger to be set through a pack. The mod requires Fabric API. Entity Modifiers is server-side only, so players join without installing it, and it is open source under the MIT License, with files for 1.17 – 1.19.
Key features
Entity property files
Data packs define modifier files that change properties of entities, replacing data modify entity commands.
Number providers
Values can come from number providers instead of execute store results, and the range of integers is not limited.
Text component lookups
Text components can read score values and resolve them correctly during the modification.
Player-specific changes
Modifiers can target player features such as hunger, and the edited values are saved as data.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Who it’s for: Data pack authors who want to change entity properties without writing long chains of commands. Server owners can use it to tune entities on a server.
How it compares
Allow editing player's nbt is server-side only and open source under the MIT License, with files for 1.16 – 1.21.11, but it is not open source as a modifier system and edits player NBT directly. Loot Modifier is server-side only and open source under the MIT License, with files for 1.21.5 – 1.21.8, so it covers a later range than Entity Modifiers. Dynamic Registries Modifier is open source under the CC0 1.0 Universal license, and either side can run it, neither needs it, for 1.21.1 – 1.21.8.

What the author says
Entity modifiers are similar to item modifiers, except that they modify entity properties rather than item properties! They are supposed to replace the data modify entity commands. - We know what we want to change. This means we can have validation of our input! - We can use number providers rather than having to use…
