Loot Modifier

by hbop

Loot Modifier lets datapacks add new pools to vanilla loot tables, so chests, mobs and blocks can drop extra items.

FabricServer-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.5 – 1.21.8

What it does

Loot table modifiers are defined as JSON files in the lootmodifier folder of a datapack, and each file lists the loot table identifiers it changes along with the pools to add. The format matches the vanilla loot pool format, so anyone who already writes loot tables can reuse that knowledge. Fabric API is required. The environment is server-side only, so players join without installing anything, and the code is open source under the MIT License, with files for 1.21.5 and 1.21.8.

Key features

  1. Pools added to existing tables

New pools are appended to loot tables that vanilla already defines, without replacing the originals.

  2. Datapack-driven modifiers

Each modifier is a data file, so changes ship in a datapack and need no code changes.

  3. Vanilla pool format

Pools use the same structure as vanilla loot tables, so existing knowledge of that format carries over.
