Balanced Stack Sizes
by hbop
Balanced Stack Sizes raises the maximum stack size of many items through a config file, so bulk storage takes fewer slots on Fabric for 1.21.3.
What it does
Stack limits for items are set in a configuration file, which maps item identifiers or tags to a maximum stack size up to 2,147,483,646. Items that normally have durability can be made stackable, with the durability reduced across the stack. Entries higher in the list take priority over lower ones, so a specific item can override a broader tag.
The project targets the issue of stacks that feel too small in combat and inventory management, and a pre-made config file is offered alongside the mod to rebalance many bulk items at once. The server configuration is synced automatically to clients that join, so players see the same limits. Requires Fabric API and oωo (owo-lib). Balanced Stack Sizes runs on client and server and is released under the MIT License, with the source code and issue tracker public. The 1.0.0 file for 1.21.3 was published on 2024-12-01 on the alpha channel.

Use cases
Bulk storage
Players hold large quantities of cobblestone, dirt or ores in fewer slots by raising their stack limits.
Server rule sets
Server owners choose which items get larger stacks and the server pushes that list to every client.
Who it’s for: Players who carry large quantities of common items, and server owners who want to adjust stack limits for everyone on the server.
