Enchantment Text Styling
Enchantment Text Styling lets a server owner or datapack author change how each enchantment name is styled in the item tooltip, for vanilla and modded enchantments alike.
What it does
Styles are defined as JSON files placed in a datapack under data/enchantment-text-styling/styling/enchantment. The mod reads these files when the server loads its dynamic registry manager, then applies the listed styling values to the matching enchantments when a world is read. Datapacks that change the dynamic registry are loaded the same way, so styles can be added or removed without changing the mod itself.
The mod is a Fabric mod that requires Fabric API. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. Files cover 1.21 – 1.21.4, and the latest Fabric file is 0.3.1-alpha+1.21.2 for 1.21.4, published on 2024-12-04 on the alpha channel. Snapshot builds are also published. The code is not open source; the mod is released as All rights reserved. The source code, issue tracker and wiki are linked publicly.
Key features
Styles for any enchantment
Text styling can be set for both vanilla enchantments and enchantments added by other mods.
Datapack-driven styles
Each style is a JSON file in a datapack, so no code is needed to add, change or remove one.
Dynamic registry loading
Styles are read from the dynamic registry when the world loads, so a full server restart is needed after edits.
Player-visible tooltips
Clients show the styled enchantment names in item tooltips, so every player sees the same result.
