EnchantingEncore
by crdtrd
Enchanting tables gain higher enchantment levels and treasure enchantments once EnchantingEncore is installed on a Fabric server, with bookshelves counted more broadly.
What it does
EnchantingEncore is a server-side enchantment system mod for Fabric that extends the vanilla enchanting mechanic. It allows higher-level enchantments, including treasure enchantments, to be offered through the enchantment table. Because the change is server-side only, players join without installing anything, and clients need no extra files. Fabric API is a required dependency and must be present on the server alongside the mod. Files are published for Fabric, for 1.21.8, 1.21.9, 1.21.10 and 1.21.11, with 1.0.0+1.21.11 as the latest file, released under the MIT License as open source.
The mod changes how bookshelves count toward the enchantment level. Filled chiseled bookshelves and regular bookshelves both contribute, and each one adds an extra level up to level 50. Bookshelves are detected inside a 9x9 cube centred on the table, excluding the central 3x3 column, and bookshelves placed behind other bookshelves still transmit power, which allows more unusual library layouts. Raising the enchantment level cap opens higher-level enchantments to players, treasure enchantments among them, and the curses found at the top levels; server owners who want enchanting to go past vanilla limits are the intended audience.
Key features
Higher enchantment levels
The enchanting table can offer enchantments above the vanilla level cap, including treasure enchantments.
Extra bookshelf power
Each bookshelf beyond the vanilla count adds one more enchantment level, up to level 50.
Chiseled and regular bookshelves
Chiseled bookshelves and ordinary bookshelves that hold books both add to the enchantment level a table can reach.
Expanded library layout
Bookshelves are read from a 9x9 area around the table, and those behind other shelves still transmit power.
Curses at the highest levels
Curse enchantments appear among the offers at the highest enchantment levels.
