Enchantable Shears and Shields lets players put enchantments on shears and shields at an enchantment table, where vanilla allows only anvils.

What it does

Shears and shields can be enchanted at an enchantment table instead of needing an anvil. Shears receive Efficiency and Unbreaking, and shields receive Unbreaking, so the two tools pick up enchantments that match their use. A level 30 enchantment raises the chance of stronger results, such as Efficiency 4 with Unbreaking 3 on shears and Unbreaking 3 on shields.

The shears and shields also keep the enchantments they could already receive, including Mending, Curse and Vanishing, plus Silk Touch on shears. The author notes that Silk Touch on shears produces a special effect that behaves oddly, so players should expect that interaction. The mod runs on Fabric for 1.20.1 and is open source under the MIT License, so its code can be read on the project's public source page.
