DifficultyEX
by bibireden
DifficultyEX sets mob levels from nearby players' levels, dimensions, biomes and structures, and its scaling works with PlayerEX.
What it does
Each mob is given a level when it loads into the world. The level is read from the PlayerEX level of nearby players, within a configurable radius, then run through a configurable formula evaluated with Crunch and exp4j. Health, damage, armor and experience rewards scale from that level, and the percentages are set under the scalingLevelSettings config. Mixins into vanilla logic apply the scaling, so zombies, skeletons and other mobs keep their usual behavior while their stats change.
The mod also lets a server owner shape where danger sits. Dimensions, biomes and the nearest configured structure within a set radius can clamp a mob's level, and optional per-entity overrides and blacklists control which mobs are affected. An overview nameplate system, rendered through mixins, shows a configurable RPG-style label with level and health above mobs. DifficultyEX is built on Fabric API, Fabric Language Kotlin, PlayerEX and owo-lib, and it runs on Fabric and Quilt for 1.20.1 only.

Use cases
Tuning a survival server
Server owners can raise danger in deeper or specific biomes by changing the clamps and the scaling formula.
Excluding specific mobs
Per-entity overrides and blacklists keep chosen mobs at their vanilla strength while the rest scale.
Who it’s for: Server owners who want mob strength tied to player progression, and players who run PlayerEX and want mobs to match their level. Single-player and multiplayer clients both run it, though the server must also have it for the scaling to apply.
