Data Attributes
by bibireden
Data Attributes lets pack makers and server owners reshape Minecraft's attribute system through configuration and datapacks, without hard-coding changes.
What it does
The mod customizes Minecraft's attributes by setting configurable bounds, stacking rules and base values for individual entities or broader entity groups. Definition overrides can change the allowed minimum and maximum, the stacking formula, the smoothness and the display format of an attribute. For example, the maximum of minecraft:generic.max_health can be raised past its vanilla ceiling of 2048, and minecraft:player can be given a base max health of 2 through an entity entry.
Attributes can also be linked: a function connects a parent attribute to a child attribute, adding or multiplying the parent's current value by a configurable coefficient, which produces follow-on stats without any code. Data Attributes resolves settings in a fixed order, so a specific entry overrides a broader group. Server configuration uses Fzzy Config, and the Datapack Baseline Preview lets administrators see what each setting will do before they apply it.
Key features
Configurable attribute bounds
Minimum and maximum values, stacking behavior and display format can be set for each attribute.
Entity base values
Base values can target a single entity type such as minecraft:player, or a broader entity group.
Attribute functions
A parent attribute can feed a derived child attribute through a coefficient, so related stats follow each other.
Datapack support
Attribute definitions and entity entries are written in datapacks and can be changed live on Fabric and NeoForge.
