Diet - AppleSeed Edition
by DrownedCloud
Diet - AppleSeed Edition adds a nutrition system to Minecraft's food, where eating a varied diet gives bonuses and an unbalanced one brings negative effects.
What it does
Foods are scored across nutrition groups, and each bite of an edible item adds to them, so a single bite of cake contributes one seventh of its total values. Nutrition also decays over time based on player actions, and a group can be configured to ignore decay for specific sources. The system is data-driven and set through the appleseed-common.toml file, with per-group overrides under Group Overrides. The mod requires CloudWorks API. The server and every player need the mod installed. Builds target NeoForge for 1.21.1 only, with 3.0.2 as the latest file, and the code is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only.
The mod is a spiritual successor to TheIllusiveC4's Diet, rewritten from the ground up. Its screen can be opened through a key binding in the AppleSeed category, and an entrance button appears in the FTB Library sidebar in compact mode when FTB Library is installed. The entrance visibility is controlled through the config. Published since 2026-05-02 and last updated 2026-08-04, the project has public source code, an issue tracker and a wiki.
