Consistepcy changes how sprinting works for players on Fabric, so the sprint key no longer drives forward and sideways walking speed.

What it does

Consistepcy removes the sprint boost from walking on land and raises forward and sideways walking speed to a level just above vanilla sprinting. Backward movement is left untouched. Swimming keeps its normal speed, and sprinting still increases creative flying speed. The mod targets players who want steady movement without holding a sprint key.

The mod runs on Fabric and needs Fabric API. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Files cover 1.20.1 and 1.21.4, with 1.0.0 for 1.20.1 as the latest Fabric file, under All rights reserved, and it is not open source.

Key features

  1. Sprint removed on land

    Sprinting no longer makes walking on land faster, so the sprint key stops changing ground movement.

  2. Faster forward and sideways walking

    Forward and sideways walking speed is raised to a level slightly above vanilla sprinting, keeping movement steady.

  3. Creative flying and water unchanged

    Swimming is unaffected, and sprinting still raises creative flying speed; backward movement is left as it is.

A very simple mod that removes sprinting on land. You can still swim in water and increase your creative flying speed with sprinting though. The mod also increase forward and sideways walking speeds so that they are similar, slightly faster even, to vanilla sprinting speeds. Backwards movement is left untouched.
