Command Keys

by TerminalMC

With Command Keys, a single key press can send a sequence of chat commands or messages, saving players from typing the same commands by hand.

What it does

Each key binding holds one or more commands. Commands can be sent with optional delays between them, so a timed sequence runs in order without manual input. The mod offers five modes: sending every command at once when the key is pressed, cycling through the commands with one per press, repeating the sequence on a configurable interval, picking a random message to send, and typing a command into chat without sending it.

Command Keys is a client-side mod, so only the client needs it and the server can run without it. It requires Fabric API and Mod Menu, and is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. The Fabric and NeoForge builds cover 1.19.3 – 26.3, while Forge and Quilt files target 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. The mod is released under the Apache License 2.0 and is open source, with public links to its source code and issue tracker. Snapshot builds are also published.

Key features

  1. Multiple commands per macro

A single key binding can hold several commands, which are sent together as one macro.

  2. Delay between commands

An optional delay can be set between commands, so a sequence can wait between steps.

  3. Five send modes

Macros can send everything at once, cycle one command per press, repeat on an interval, pick a random message or type into chat unsent.

  4. Random message selection

A macro can choose one message at random from its list each time it is triggered.

Use cases

Repeated server commands

Players who run the same commands often can bind them to a key instead of typing them each time.

Timed chat messages

A macro with delays can send a series of messages at set intervals, for example during an event.

Who it’s for: Players who send the same chat commands or messages repeatedly, and players who want a key to type a command without sending it.
