ColorSaturation (Color Boost)

by Polyfrost

Color Boost lets players recolor the world with a saturation shader, adjusting the strength of colors from full grayscale to punchier tones.

FabricForgeOrnitheClient-side onlyCustom license1.8.9 – 26.3

What it does

The mod is a shader that changes how colors appear on screen. Saturation can be raised for brighter tones or lowered until the view turns to grayscale, which suits players who want a different mood without swapping resource packs. Sliders for contrast, brightness and hue sit alongside the saturation control.

ColorSaturation requires OneConfig and Fabric Language Kotlin, and OneConfig is bundled inside the mod. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and Ornithe, with the latest Fabric build targeting 26.3 and the latest Forge and Ornithe builds targeting 1.8.9. The mod is client-side only and released under a custom license that is not open source. Public links exist for the source code and the issue tracker.

Key features

  1. Saturation slider

Raises colors for a punchier look or lowers them toward grayscale to play without color.

  2. Contrast, brightness and hue

Additional sliders adjust contrast, brightness and hue alongside the saturation setting.

  3. Full-screen shader effect

The recoloring applies to the whole rendered world, so every block, mob and sky shifts together.

  4. Polyfrost status check

The mod points players to Polyfrost Status when a Polyfrost service is down, so they can confirm an outage.

Use cases

Grayscale play

Players who want a muted, colorless view can drop saturation to zero without installing a separate resource pack.

Vivid screenshots

Raising saturation gives brighter colors for photographs or videos of a build or a landscape.

Who it’s for: Players on Fabric, Forge or Ornithe who want to change the color balance of the game on their own client. Servers do not need the mod, since only the client runs it.

Questions
