Clockpass
by ItsBeck_
Clockpass gives the compass, clock and spyglass in Minecraft Java Edition extra functions, so these items stop being decorative for players on Forge.
What it does
Holding a compass shows the current coordinates above the hotbar, and sneaking while holding one shows the direction the player is facing. A clock displays the current time and whether it is day or night, and sneaking with a clock in hand reports the light level at the player's feet. Right-clicking with a clock in the main hand starts a stopwatch that counts up by the second; right-clicking again stops it and announces the total time in chat, and the timer keeps running while the clock sits anywhere in the inventory. The spyglass reports the current weather, and sneaking with one shows the name of the block being looked at.
The mod can be disabled in a world through a game rule called clockpassMode, set when the world is created or changed later through the world creation menu. A separate rule, publicStopwatch, controls whether stopwatch results are announced in multiplayer, which can help keep timed events and races fair. Clockpass is client and server, so the server and every player need the mod. Files are published for Forge only, for 1.19.4 and 1.20.1, with 1.7.5 for 1.20.1 as the latest file. The project is not open source; it is released under All rights reserved, and a public issue tracker is available.

How it compares
Portable Clocks is server-side only and released under the MIT License, for 1.19.2 on Forge; players need nothing installed. Deadman's Clock is client and server, released under the MIT License, and built for 1.20.1 on Forge. Clockpass is client and server and under All rights reserved, covering both 1.19.4 and 1.20.1, so it sits closer to the vanilla clock items than either of those.
