Hanging On

by ItsBeck_

Hanging On changes chains in Minecraft so that players can climb them, craft them more cheaply and place them in longer runs.

ForgeAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

Chains become climbable, so a player can move up and down them the way they would use a ladder or a vine. The recipe is changed too: a chain is cheaper to craft from three iron nuggets, and the recipe works anywhere a crafting table does, not only at a table. Sneaking and right-clicking a chain while holding more chains places a straight line of them below the original, extending up to two blocks down. Chains can also be tied to fences, as a lead would, and the mod reveals secret connections between them.

Hanging On is aimed at building and descending. Long drops in caves become easier to get down with a chain run, and chains serve as decoration for rooms and facades. The author recommends pairing it with Unchained Mod for more chain actions at the highest peaks.

The mod is published for Forge only, for Minecraft 1.20.1, and the latest Forge file is 1.0.1 for 1.20.1, dated 2024-02-15. It was first published on 2024-01-30. The author's files are released under All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source.
