ChunkDebug
by senseiwells
ChunkDebug is a Fabric debugging tool that shows which chunks are loaded in each dimension, with their status, tickets and world generation stage on a live map.
What it does
The map is centered on the chunks around the player and can be panned and zoomed. A menu on the left holds the ChunkDebug options, and the whole overlay is hidden until F1 is pressed or the toggle button in the bottom-left corner is clicked. Chunk Retention sets how many ticks an unloaded chunk stays visible before it fades out.
The mod is aimed at developers and server operators who need to see why chunks load, unload or stay in memory. Installing it on the client alone is enough for single-player worlds, while multiplayer servers need the chunk-debug permission for each player who should use it, granted by operator status or through a permissions plugin. A server can also disable the permission requirement in the chunk-debug-server.json config. Fabric API is required, and the environment is client and server, so both the server and every player need the mod. The code is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Live loaded chunk map
Displays every loaded chunk in the current dimension and updates as chunks load and unload.
Chunk status and tickets
Shows each chunk's current status, its chunk tickets and the world generation stage it has reached.
Minimap modes
A minimap can stay static, reflect what the central chunk map is rendering, or follow the player.
Rendering options
Colors chunks by world generation stage or by ticket type, and offers a further toggle for the minimap view.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Mod developers, datapack authors and server operators who want to inspect chunk loading and world generation in a running world. Players who only play single-player can use it without any server setup.
How it compares
Always Loaded is a server-side only Fabric mod under the MIT License for 1.15 – 1.21.4, which keeps chunks loaded rather than displaying them. ChunkMap is server-side only and open source under the CC0 1.0 Universal license, covering 1.16 – 1.21.3. Slime Map is a client and server Fabric mod under the MIT License for 1.20.1 – 1.20.4, and it shows slime chunks rather than loading states.
