Chess Go, a Forge minigame by PellucidDice, adds go-style chess tables and stone pieces that players can use to play chess in the world.
What it does
The mod simulates go chess with tables and stones. Several materials are used for the chess tables, and players play on them directly. Stones are kept in containers, and a stone bag holds a large number of stones, which can be clicked to take stones out and fill stone containers.
Crafting starts with an empty stone bag and an empty chess set; the set can be combined with ingredients by holding the item in the main hand, an ingredient in the off hand and right-clicking to merge them. Glass sprays are included to recolour blocks and items. Pieces modeled on the standard set were added after version 2.0. Chess Go runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Forge only, across 1.19.2 – 1.20.2, and the latest file is 2.3 for 1.20.2, published on 2024-01-08. The mod is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.
Two client config options switch between simpler stone models and simpler piece models, and lower values or qualities greatly increase FPS, which makes the mod easier to run on weaker hardware.
