Chat Block

With Chat Block, a player keeps a list of words and patterns that hides matching chat messages, both sent and received.
What it does
Chat Block keeps a filter list that hides or blocks chat messages containing listed text. Filtering applies to messages the player sends and to messages the player receives, so spam that matches an entry does not appear in the chat window. Matching can be case-sensitive, and entries can be written as Java or Kotlin regular expressions.
When a message is blocked, the mod can show a notice saying so, which tells the player that something was removed. The similarity threshold for word matching is set as a percentage, so near-matches can be caught as well as exact ones. The mod runs on the client alone, so a server does not need it and players on any server can use it.
Installation requires Fabric API and MixinBooter on Fabric, MixinBooter on Forge, and Ornithe Standard Libraries with OneConfig on Ornithe. Mod Menu or Mod Menu Ornithe adds a settings screen if installed. OneConfig is bundled inside the mod. Chat Block is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later and is open source. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and Ornithe across 9 release versions, 1.8.9 – 26.3.

Chat Filters is a Fabric-only client mod for 1.21.9 – 26.2 under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and it is open source. NiChat is also Fabric-only and client-side, for 1.21.6 – 26.3 under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only. Hide Player List works for both client and server on Fabric for 1.21.10 and is not open source, so it differs in environment and scope from Chat Block.
