Carpet (Aternos version) is a Fabric fork of Carpet Mod that removes the fake player feature so it can run on Aternos server hosting.
What it does
Carpet changes many game mechanics on a server, including movable block entities, TNT destruction and mob spawning, and it can display mobcaps, TPS and MSPT figures. Tick warping lets a server skip ahead through a set span of game time, and the mod carries several code optimizations. Builders of farms and other technical setups use it for these tools.
This fork drops the player spawning function. The player create command and the reaction features are removed, and running them only outputs a message that fake player spawning is disabled. It was made because Aternos cannot tell real players from fake ones, and it was published for Aternos servers that stay online. The original Carpet Mod came from gnembon and a group of contributors, and its MIT License carries over to this fork.
The mod is Fabric only, with 13 release versions covering 1.21 – 26.1. It is required on the server and optional for players. Latest file: 1.21.8-vAternos for 1.21.8, published 2026-09-03. The project also has a wiki.
