Canned
by legopitstop
Canned adds food-storage blocks for Minecraft, letting players stack canned foods in one slot and open them with a handheld opener.
What it does
Canned adds new blocks used to store foods. Up to eight cans of the same kind can be stacked on one block, in the same way candles stack. An opener is held in the main hand to place a can, and in the offhand to open one, and right-clicking with the opener opens the can. Baked Potato and Beetroot Soup are among the foods that fit the cans.
The mod suits decorated kitchens, pantries and bulk food rooms, where a warehouse of stored food is the goal. The opener's use carries a small cost: doing a deal with it deals 1 damage. Canned runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it, and Fabric API is required as well. Builds cover 1.20 – 1.21.4 on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and the code is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial No Derivatives 4.0, so the mod is not open source.
Key features
Stackable food cans
Up to eight cans of the same kind stack on one block, the way candles do, so storage takes less space.
Handheld opener
An opener is held in the main hand to place a can and in the offhand to open it, with right-click used to open.
Foods in cans
Foods such as Baked Potato and Beetroot Soup can be stored in cans, which lets a room keep a bulk supply.
Deal damage
Doing a deal with the opener costs 1 damage, a small trade-off built into its use.

Bulk food storage
A warehouse or pantry can hold many stacked cans, grouping one food type on each block.
Decorative rooms
Stacked cans of different foods can furnish kitchens and shelving in a themed build.
Who it’s for: Players who build kitchens, pantries or food warehouses, and server owners who want stored food as a decorative feature. Both the server and each player need the mod.
