Bury Me Deep
by davigj
Bury Me Deep lets players turn sand and gravel into suspicious blocks by brushing them, so that archaeology loot can be placed anywhere in a world.
What it does
Brushing a sand or gravel block creates a suspicious block of the chosen type, and the mod's brush block choice sets which kind is produced. Once a suspicious block exists, players can deposit items into it. The brush timer resets while brushing, and the time left before the block sets is shown as the brushing continues. Items placed in it are held until the block is complete. The design lets players build their own archaeology sites from ordinary terrain rather than waiting for naturally generated ones.
The mod is a Storage and Decoration addition for Forge and NeoForge. Blueprint is required on both loaders. Atmospheric, Jaden's Nether Expansion, Spawn and Species are optional and add extra content when installed. Files exist for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, with 1.0.8 as the latest Forge build and 2.0.0 as the latest NeoForge build. The server and every player need the mod installed. The code is released under the MIT License and is open source. The concept comes from Zym, whose ideas were adapted during development, and the mixin work was helped by Jsburg.
Key features
Player-made suspicious blocks
Brushing sand or gravel converts it into a suspicious block that players can then fill with items.
Brush block choice
The brush block setting determines which suspicious block type a brushed block becomes.
Deposit by dropping items
Items can be placed into a suspicious block from nearby, and dropping with Ctrl held moves an entire stack.
Brush timer reset
Continued brushing resets the time left before the block sets, so the countdown stays accurate.

It will eventually open up to accepting items. - Deposit blocks on top or close by. The items must be entities (ex: a hopper would not work.) - While it can accept items, brushing it will…
