What it does

The mod expands the Nether with content for every part of the dimension. The author describes it as a project still under active work: only about one eighth is finished, with plans to update all five vanilla Nether biomes and add four new ones. Each biome is meant to bring its own blocks, items, mobs and game mechanics.

Jaden's Nether Expansion needs Architectury API, Elysium API, Fabric API, Lodestone and TerraBlender to run. Forge Config API Port is optional. Files exist for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with builds for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. It is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial No Derivatives 4.0 license, and is not open source. Source code, an issue tracker and a wiki are public.

Key features

  1. Nether biome updates

Vanilla Nether biomes are being reworked one by one, each with its own set of content.

  2. New Nether biomes

Four new biomes are planned as additions to the dimension alongside the reworked vanilla ones.

  3. Biome-specific blocks and items

Each biome brings its own blocks and items, giving every area of the Nether distinct materials to find and use.

  4. Mobs and mechanics

Biomes add their own mobs and game mechanics, so exploring the Nether varies from place to place.
