burgered
by WiredTomato
Burgered lets players stack ingredients into a burger that restores hunger, with buns, patties, cheese and other food items to build from.
What it does
Each ingredient carries its own hunger and saturation value, so a finished burger restores the sum of the parts. Players craft a burger stacker and layer ingredients such as a bottom bun, a raw beef patty, a cheese slice, pickled beets and a top bun. The stack can grow very tall, since the ingredients stack without a practical limit. Eating a burger takes about half a second per ingredient, with a maximum of two seconds.
The mod also ships an edible book and additional burger variants. Datapacks can turn vanilla items into burger ingredients, and the wiki documents the full ingredient list. Burgered runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. It requires Cloth Config API, Fabric API, Fabric Language Kotlin and Kotlin for Forge, and it is released under the MIT License as open source. Files target Fabric and NeoForge, with 0.2.0-beta.1 as the latest file for 1.21.4.
Key features
Layered burgers
Buns, patties, cheese and vegetables are stacked in the burger stacker to form one edible item.
Per-ingredient food values
Each ingredient adds its own hunger and saturation, so different stacks give different results.
Datapack ingredients
Datapacks can register vanilla items as burger ingredients without changing the mod's code.
Edible book
An edible book item is included among the mod's food, extending the theme beyond burgers.

How it compares
Burger Mod is open source under the MIT License, runs on NeoForge only and has files for 1.21.4, so it does not cover Fabric. Ediblifier is also NeoForge only, for 1.21.4, and open source is not part of its license terms, which are MIT License. Burgers, Cheese, and Villagers is NeoForge only for 1.21.4 and released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. Camel Burger Mod is a Fabric mod for 1.21.5 under the MIT License, which does not overlap with Burgered's catalog range.
