EffectsHud

by zachphul

EffectsHud replaces the scattered status icons of Minecraft with a single HUD listing every active potion effect, its level and its remaining time.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT License1.21.10

What it does

Each active effect appears as a row showing its name, amplifier level and the time left before it ends. The list can be sorted by remaining time, by name, or with beneficial effects placed first, so a player can see which timers are about to run out. A warning is shown for effects the player chooses to watch, so an expiring buff or a harmful effect does not go unnoticed.

The HUD is client-side only, so a player can add it to a single-player world or a multiplayer server without any change on the server. It needs Fabric API and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL), and the position, scale and other options are set in the config screen. Files are published for Fabric only, for Minecraft 1.21.10, with 1.0.0 as the latest file released on 2026-06-15. The code is under the MIT License, but the project is not open source.

Key features

  1. Effect rows

Each row lists the effect name, its amplifier level and the remaining duration in one compact line.

  2. Sorting options

The list can be ordered by time, by name, or with beneficial effects first.

  3. Expiry warnings

Chosen effects trigger a warning shortly before they run out, so the player can reapply them in time.

  4. Configurable layout

Position and scale of the HUD can be changed in the config screen to fit the interface.
