Blacksmiths
by samolego
Blacksmiths is a server-side addon for Taterzen villagers, letting them repair tools for players on a Fabric or Forge server.
What it does
The mod lets Taterzen villagers act as tool-repairing workers. Server owners set how much durability one repair point restores, how fast the repair runs, and whether repairs continue in chunks that are not loaded. The repair rate is tied to server tick timing, so it follows system time, and tools are repaired even while the host PC is switched off.
Pricing is configurable. Without an extra mod, the server sets a default payment item and its worth. Installing Grand Economy replaces that item pricing with its own economy. Different Taterzens can be given different repair values, so a server can offer cheap or expensive repairs at different stations, using a documented set of commands and rules.
The mod is released under the MIT License and is open source, with a source code repository, issue tracker and wiki. Builds exist for Fabric and Forge, covering 1.18.1 and 1.19, and the environment is server-side only, so players join without installing anything. It needs the Taterzen mod to run.
Key features
Repairing villagers
Taterzen villagers can be set up to repair damaged tools for players who pay the configured price.
Durability per second
The server sets how much durability is restored each second, with the cost of one durability point configurable.
Offline repair
Repairs can keep running in unloaded chunks and while the server host PC is off, based on system time.
Custom repair values
Individual Taterzens can be given different repair rates and prices, so each station behaves differently.
Economy integration
Grand Economy can replace default item pricing, letting repair costs follow a shared server currency.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Who it’s for: Server owners who already run Taterzen and want tool repair as a villager service. Players need nothing installed, since the mod runs only on the server.
