SimpleVillagers
by samolego
Players who want villagers they can move or breed without the usual trade-hall grind can use SimpleVillagers, a server-side Fabric and Quilt mod for 1.18.1 – 1.20.4.
What it does
The mod adds a Breeder block and an Incubator block to the server. A player who places a Breeder can produce a baby villager item at a rate of one item every five minutes, while an Incubator covers the rest of the villager-making work. Reroll buttons let a player regenerate a villager's trades, and every delay in the mod can be changed in its configuration.
Villagers can be handled as items. Server owners decide whether a villager can be picked up and whether the villager item can be used to spawn a villager. The villager item uses a spawn egg texture, but it is not a spawn egg and cannot be placed in a spawner. Any type of wool can be used in its recipe.
The mod is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, is open source, and is published for Fabric and Quilt. Its latest file is 1.20.4+1.4.7 for 1.20.4, dated 2024-03-28, and snapshot builds are published as well. Files exist for 1.18.1, 1.18.2, 1.19, 1.19.1, 1.19.2, 1.19.3, 1.20 and 1.20.4.

What the author says
Don't worry, even though you get a villager item that looks like spawn egg, it actually isn't under the hood. It just uses spawn egg texture as I was too lazy to draw my own.
