No Elytra Flight
by zaneshaw
No Elytra Flight turns off elytra gliding on servers and in single-player worlds, while still letting players wear the elytra as an item.
What it does
When the mod is active, players can equip an elytra but cannot start flying with it. The blocking happens in the event layer: elytra events and entities are intercepted, so fall flying never starts. Flight is the only thing removed; the item, its slot and its durability behave as in the base game.
Scope can be narrowed in the configuration. A dimension whitelist or blacklist decides where elytra flight is disabled, and a player whitelist or blacklist decides for which players. Fireworks can also be disabled separately, so they cannot be used to boost an elytra. A Mod Menu toggle is available in single-player for trying the change without editing files.
The mod is built for Fabric and published for 26.1 – 26.1.2. Files target 26.1.2 as the latest build. Either side can run it, and neither needs it. The code is licensed under CC0 1.0 Universal and is open source, with a public issue tracker and source repository.

Use cases
Keeping elytra as cosmetic gear
A server can let players show elytra as armor while the rules of its world forbid gliding.
Limiting flight to some worlds
A dimension list keeps flight available in one dimension while it is blocked in the others.
Who it’s for: Server owners who want elytra as equipment without flight, and single-player players who want to test a world without gliding.
How it compares
Elytra-Slot is Fabric-only, built for 26.2, and runs client and server under the MIT License, so it is not open source. Elytra Hub is also Fabric-only and client-side only, but targets 26.1.2 and is licensed under CC0 1.0 Universal without being open source. Elytra Utils is client-side only with a GNU General Public License v3.0 or later license and covers 1.21.1 – 26.3, so it reaches older builds that this mod does not.
