Backport Gamerules
by AqUpd
Backport Gamerules adds gamerules from newer Minecraft versions to Fabric servers running 1.18.2 and 1.19.2, so server owners can set them on older worlds.
What it does
The mod registers gamerules that were introduced in later releases and makes them available on 1.18.2 and 1.19.2. Each new rule can be read and changed with the usual gamerule command, which lets a server owner use the same settings across versions. Only the server needs the mod, so players join without installing anything.
Three of the backported rules control explosion drops and snow. blockExplosionDropDecay, mobExplosionDropDecay and tntExplosionDropDecay each decide how item drops from explosions decay with distance, and snowAccumulationHeight and snowLayersKillGrass control how deep snow builds up and whether it smothers grass. The project also covers gamerules from later releases, so the set of options extends past the version the server runs. Fabric API must be installed alongside it.
Files are published for Fabric only, with builds for 1.18.2 and 1.19.2. The latest file is 1.0.1+1.19.2 for 1.19.2, released on 2022-11-06, and the project was first published on 2022-11-04. The code is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only.

Use cases
Server tuning
A server owner adjusts explosion drops or snow behavior through gamerule commands, without changing the game version.
Consistent rules across versions
A network that runs several versions can use the same gamerule names on each of its servers.
Who it’s for: Server owners on Fabric who run 1.18.2 or 1.19.2 and want gamerules from later releases. Players on the same server do not need the mod.
How it compares
MoreGameRules is open source under the GNU General Public License v2.0 only and runs on Fabric for 1.19.2 – 1.19.3, so it covers a slightly different version range. Better Pickup is open source under the MIT License, server-side only, and targets 1.20.3 – 1.21, which is outside the range this mod covers. Strong crops is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, runs on Fabric for 1.17 – 1.18.1, and works on either side, and neither needs it.
