Auto Replanter

by jackclarke95

Auto Replanter, a Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.1, replants crops automatically once they are harvested, so players no longer need to plant each seed by hand.

What it does

Crops harvested with a tool are replanted at age 0 as soon as they break, so farms keep producing without manual replanting. The replanting covers modded crops that extend Minecraft's CropBlock, and a custom block replacement rule can swap other blocks, such as mushroom colonies, for the same behaviour.

Which tools qualify is set in the config: item lists, tags, or any tool carrying the Auto Replanter enchantment, where an optional datapack adds that enchantment. Tools take durability damage with full support for enchantments such as Unbreaking, and the config sets the trigger condition, letting a player replant while moving, while crouching, or in both states. Auto Replanter requires Fabric API and is server-side only, so players join without installing it; the server alone needs the mod. It is released under CC0 1.0 Universal and is open source, with 1.3.1 as the latest Fabric file for 1.21.1.

Key features

  1. Instant crop replanting

Crops are replanted at age 0 the moment they break, including modded crops that extend CropBlock.

  2. Dual tool validation

Tools can be checked by tag or by item list, and the enchantment can override both checks.

  3. Smart tool damage

A tool used for replanting loses durability, and enchantments such as Unbreaking still apply.

  4. Sneak mode control

The config decides the trigger condition, so replanting can depend on whether the player is crouching.

  5. Custom block replacement

A replacement rule can swap non-crop blocks, such as mushroom colonies, so those blocks are replanted when broken.

How it compares

Full comparison

Crop Harvester Server is also server-side only and open source under CC0 1.0 Universal, but its files cover 1.21.1 – 1.21.4, so it stops at 1.21.4. Quick Replant runs client-side only under the MIT License for 1.21 – 26.1.2, so only players install it. Automatic Replanting, from the same family of Fabric replanters, runs on client and server under All rights reserved and is published for 1.21.8.

Questions

Does Auto Replanter require Fabric API?

Yes. Fabric API is a required dependency and must be installed next to Auto Replanter on the server.

Do players need to install Auto Replanter?

No. The mod is server-side only, so players can join a server running it without installing anything.

How can a tool get auto-replanting without being listed in the config?

A tool enchanted with the Auto Replanter enchantment is always considered valid, provided the optional datapack is enabled.
