Attribute Swap Timer

by kernelxdev

Attribute Swap Timer is a client-side HUD mod that shows how many ticks an attribute swap took after each attack, labelled from PERFECT to Too Late.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1 – 26.2

What it does

After an attack the timer starts on the attack cooldown and hand swing, then stops the moment a new item is swapped into the main hand. The result appears right above the crosshair and stays on screen for half a second, long enough to read before the next engagement. Each swap is shown in exact ticks, milliseconds and seconds.

The mod targets PvP timing, such as breach swaps, where a player switches items to trigger a new attack. It uses its own detection logic to identify a true attack rather than any hand movement. Because it runs only on the client, a server does not need it, and the mod works on servers that allow Fabric clients.

Installation needs Fabric API. The mod is published for Fabric only, across six release versions covering 1.20.1 – 26.2, and is released under the MIT License. Its source code and issue tracker are public.

Key features

  1. Instant swap feedback

A label appears on screen the moment a swap finishes, so players know the timing without guessing.

  2. Precise timing readout

Each swap is shown as an exact count of ticks, milliseconds and seconds from the attack.

  3. Clear tier colours

1 tick is PERFECT, +1 tick is Good, +2 ticks is Late and 3 or more ticks is Too Late, each in its own colour.

  4. Attack-based detection

The timer starts only on a real attack, judged by the attack cooldown and hand swing, not on any input.

Use cases

Breach swap practice

A player trains breach swaps in PvP and watches the tick count to find a consistent timing.

Swap timing drills

Players repeat attack and swap sequences alone and compare the tick counts to tighten their timing over time.

Who it’s for: The mod suits PvP players who want measured feedback on attribute swap timing. It is a single-player and multiplayer client addition and does not change the server.
