With ArcaneEcho Enchantment, a pickaxe can be enchanted to reveal valuable ores hidden beneath the ground nearby.
What it does
ArcaneEcho Enchantment adds a new enchantment, Arcane Echo, that can be applied to pickaxes. Once a pickaxe carries it, holding the tool and right-clicking the air activates a scan that locates ores in the surrounding area. The result arrives as a message listing nearby ores, and glowing block outlines show where they sit. Higher levels of the enchantment extend the detection range and add visual feedback, while the level III version also shows the direction of the ores. After each use the pickaxe enters a cooldown before the scan can be triggered again.
The enchantment has three levels and only works on pickaxe tools, so other equipment is unaffected. Its strength and cooldown are configurable through the Forge config file, which lets a server owner adjust how quickly the scan can be repeated. The mod is published for Forge and runs on the 1.20.1 game version. Because it is a Forge mod, it has to be installed on both the server and every player's client, with Forge installed as the loader.
