The Block of Angel
by spekarchik
The Block of Angel adds a pair of artifact blocks, the Angel Block and the Devil Block, to a survival world that starts with almost nothing.
What it does
The mod sets a harsh opening: a player begins with a leather tunic and a stone sword and must gather resources to progress. Early exploration uncovers structures that hold the components needed for the two artifacts. A placed Devil Block slowly infects the surrounding land, turning forests into bare trunks, grass into mycelium and stone into an unstable infested form, while it also gives something back in return.
The Angel Block is the first real objective. It must be crafted and placed, then it needs roughly one full in-game day to awaken before it can purify the area. The purified zone removes monsters and creates a safe haven. Used together, the two blocks give advanced control over which monsters spawn and where, and farming of rare drops such as mob heads and music discs. Both blocks must be crafted, so players need enough resources to make two of the same artifact.
The mod runs on NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1 – 26.3 and is released under a custom license, so it is not open source. Only assembled looting structures are used, so exploration is what provides the parts. Both the server and every player need the mod installed.

What the author says
Start with nothing but a leather tunic and a stone sword. Survive, explore, and uncover artifacts that let you bend the rules of the world itself. This is not about grinding. This is about power you earn — and how you choose to use it.
