Almost Unified
With Almost Unified installed on a server, recipes that accept several mod versions of the same material are rewritten to use one dominant item per configured tag.
What it does
The mod works in a similar way to earlier unification approaches. A priority list of mods and a set of target tags are defined in its config, and for each tag it picks one dominant item. Recipes that use that tag are then changed so they accept the dominant entry, while the other items stay usable as ingredients through the tag. Outputs are switched to the dominant item as well.
Recipes are altered when they are loaded, before the game starts processing them, so the work does not run during play. Because inputs keep their tag, existing worlds are handled too. The mod does not add recipes, resources or ore generation of its own; it only transforms existing ones. Almost Unified is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge under All rights reserved, with files for 1.18.2 – 1.21.1 and the latest builds for 1.21.1 on Fabric and NeoForge.
Key features
Tag-based unification
Each configured tag gets one dominant item, chosen by a priority list of mods in the config.
Recipe rewriting on load
Recipe JSON is read and altered as the world loads, before the game runs the recipes.
Existing worlds supported
Inputs keep their tags, so items already in a world remain useful in the rewritten recipes.
Config-driven targets
The priority mod list and the target tags are both set in the config file.
Compatibility

Use cases
Modpack unification
Pack makers can reduce the number of ingots and similar items that differ only by source mod.
Storage and stacking
Fewer duplicate resources means stacks of one material are not split across several item types.
Who it’s for: Pack makers and server owners who combine many mods that add the same materials and want one dominant item per material in recipes.

What the author says
The mod is inspired by the idea of UniDict. An old, no longer maintained mod from the days of 1.12.2. Old versions of Minecraft used a system called the Ore Dictionary. Its purpose was to make the life of modders easier when adding new resources that might exist in other mods already. When used correctly, you could…
