Good Night - Sleeping Effects
by ZeioDust
Good Night - Sleeping Effects changes what happens after a player sleeps, attaching timed buffs and debuffs to the bed based on the surroundings and the player's state.
What it does
Sleeping in a bed activates a reward system that reads the conditions around the player. Sleeping during a thunderstorm grants Strength, and going to bed with a full stomach grants Regeneration. Resting at full health gives Resistance, and sleeping in a well-lit area gives a Speed boost. A campfire nearby adds Fire Resistance, bookshelves add Bonus XP, and a jukebox grants Luck. Flowers around the bed give Gentle Healing. Sleeping beside a tamed cat or wolf grants Extra Health Boost, while a rain shelter provides a cozy Saturation effect. Sleeping underground grants Haste for mining, and a nearby beacon extends the duration of these buffs.
The mod also makes the environment matter for waking. Sleeping in full armor gives Slowness, since the player is warned to rest without it. The detection radius for nearby blocks can be customized through a simple config file, which is where server owners set the range and tune the effects. Good Night - Sleeping Effects is client and server, so both the server and every player need it. It is released under All rights reserved and is not open source. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, across 17 release versions, 1.20.1 – 1.21.11.
