Nightmare - Evolving & Rising Hostility
by ZeioDust
Nightmare - Evolving & Rising Hostility makes hostile mobs grow stronger each in-game day, so a world's danger keeps rising the longer it is played.
What it does
Each 24 in-game hours, the mobs receive a modest increase to health, damage and movement speed. After several days, mobs begin to spawn in merged groups, such as a zombie, a skeleton and a creeper together, which makes encounters harder to predict. Night and storm weather also shift mob behavior, making nights more dangerous and monsters faster and more aggressive.
The mod rewards players who survive the escalating challenge: tougher monsters drop more XP, better loot and rare items. A simple HUD shows the current day and difficulty level. The mod runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need it. Builds cover 1.18 – 1.21.4, with the latest files for 1.21.4, and the code is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.
