Wrenchest

Wrenchest lets players connect two adjacent chests into one double chest and disconnect them again without breaking either one, using a single-item Chest Wrench.
What it does
A player right-clicks a chest with the Chest Wrench while the crosshair points at the side where the second chest should attach, and the two chests join. Both must be single chests for the connection to work. Disconnecting works the same way: right-clicking a connected chest with the wrench separates the pair. Items stay inside while the chests are connected or separated, so nothing has to be moved out first.
Which side is chosen depends on where the crosshair sits on the chest. A crosshair placed further toward the front of the chest, facing the player, selects a different side than one placed further back, away from the player. The mod works with ender chests, trapped chests, modded chests and any block that extends the vanilla chest, though ender chests count only as single chests. The project's video demonstrates the placement and the crosshair targeting.
