With Snow Under Trees installed on a server, snow settles beneath the trees of snowy biomes, so the ground looks wintry without any change to the world's blocks.
What it does
The mod places snow under trees that grow in snowy biomes. It is a world generation mod, and its effect appears in newly generated terrain as players explore. Players join without it, since only the server has to run the mod.
The author lists compatibility with several modded biome packs, so trees from those biomes can also receive snow. Polarizing Biomes requires it. Builds cover 1.14.4 – 26.3 across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and the code is released under the MIT License as open source.

Snowy Trees is a Fabric-only mod for 1.18 – 1.18.2, server-side only and open source under the MIT License, so it does not cover the newer builds of Snow Under Trees. Simple Snowy Fix (Forge / Fabric) is server-side only, open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and covers 1.18.2 – 26.2 on all four loaders. Woodlands:Extra is client and server, not open source, and is published for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1.
