Simple Snowy Fix changes how snow is placed in snowy biomes so that it no longer appears under leaves that grew into an earlier-generated chunk.

What it does

Snow in Minecraft Java Edition can be placed in a chunk before trees in a neighboring chunk are added. Leaves that extend across the chunk border then end up with snow beneath them, which makes trees in snowy areas look patchy. The mod corrects this placement so the snow covers the leaves as intended. By default it fixes only this bug, and an optional config setting adds snow on leaves that sit under other leaves.

The mod is a port of an earlier Fabric mod, rebuilt for several loaders and published by KostromDan. It is server-side only, so players join without installing it, and it needs no other mods. It works with most world generation mods that add snowy biomes, and the author reports that generation time rises by less than 100 ms for a 32-chunk radius of snowy forest with many leaves. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, covering game versions 1.18.2 – 26.2 with 29 release versions, and the latest file is 2.2.1 for 26.2.

This mod is a multiloader port of Simple Snowy Fix (fabric) by Apollo. In Minecraft 1.12 and later, snow often doesn’t fully cover tree leaves in snowy biomes, including modded ones, making trees look bad—especially large modded ones.
