Wonderful Hammers

by daniel.torelli05

Wonderful Hammers adds six hammer tools for Forge 1.20.1, each mining a 3x3 area and carrying its own special ability.

What it does

Each hammer mines a three-by-three pattern in one swing, and the mod detects which blocks in that pattern should be broken. Only stone-like materials such as stone, ores, deepslate and netherrack are affected, so dirt, wood and other blocks in the pattern are left alone. A visual preview outlines every block that would break, drawn in the vanilla style, before the player swings.

The hammers add abilities beyond mining speed. One hammer restores durability while it is held under sunlight. Right-clicking another unleashes a shockwave that pushes nearby enemies away, and a further hammer attracts dropped items and armored enemies toward the player. Precious ores are highlighted through walls within a five-block radius, with glowing outlines drawn over semi-transparent faces.

Wonderful Hammers is a Forge mod that needs no other mod. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Files are published for 1.20.1 only, with 1.0.2 as the latest file from 2025-10-15. The source code is open source under the MIT License.

Key features

  1. Six specialized hammers

Six tools join the game, each with its own ability on top of the 3x3 mining pattern.

  2. Smart block detection

Only stone-like materials are broken within the pattern, so the rest of the area is untouched.

  3. Visual mining preview

Outlines show exactly which blocks will break before the swing, drawn in vanilla style.

  4. Ore highlighting

Precious ores within five blocks show through walls with glowing outlines and semi-transparent faces.

Use cases

Quarry work in stone

Players clearing stone, deepslate or netherrack layers can break a three-by-three patch in one swing instead of block by block.

Ore hunting

Within the five-block highlight radius, precious ores can be located before digging into a cave wall.

Who it’s for: Players who want faster stone mining with a visual preview, and server owners who want the tools available to every player on a Forge 1.20.1 world.
