Robo's Balanced Mining Hammer adds a classic 3x3 mining hammer for Forge 1.20.1, gated behind a progression step that comes late in the game.
What it does
The hammer breaks a 3x3 area of blocks in one swing, which makes large-scale resource gathering quicker than with a single-block pickaxe. The author built it as a late-game item: crafting uses Purpur and Netherite components, and the Netherite part has to be obtained by visiting an End city. Earlier attempts at gating it behind two conditions were dropped, so the single progression requirement is the one in place.
Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Files are published for Forge 1.20.1 only, with 1.0.0 as the latest build from 2026-06-14. The code is not open source, and the author keeps All rights reserved. Repairs use Netherite, and the hammer has sound effects and particles that few other hammer mods include.
