With ViaFabric installed, Fabric players can join servers running older or newer Minecraft builds than their own client.

What it does

ViaFabric brings the ViaVersion protocol translation layer to Fabric, on both servers and clients. It lets a client connect to a server on a different game version. The mod is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and ViaVersion is bundled inside it.

Fabric API is required for Minecraft 1.14 and later. Legacy Fabric API is needed for 1.8.9. Files cover versions 1.8.9 – 26.3, and the latest Fabric file is for 26.3, published as an alpha build.
