Players who stay on an older version but want newer content can use Vanilla Backport, which brings features from modern Minecraft releases to earlier game versions.

What it does

The mod backports features from newer releases so they run on earlier builds, aiming to keep behavior close to vanilla Minecraft. Files cover 1.16.5, 1.18.2, 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and the mod works on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. Fabric API and Platform are required dependencies. Client and server both need it, and the license is custom and not open source.
