Vanilla+ Armor

by protoncracker

Vanilla+ Armor gives the vanilla armor sets added passive effects, such as projectile protection from full chainmail and drowning relief from a turtle shell helmet.

FabricClient and serverAll rights reserved26.1.2

What it does

Each vanilla armor set gets its own passive trait. Wearing a full set of chainmail blocks all projectiles, while a turtle shell helmet cuts drowning damage in half. Full iron armor softens falls and reduces sword damage, and full diamond armor shortens the duration of harmful effects such as poison, wither and slowness by half. Netherite is given the ability to resist lava, which the other sets lack. Arrows with custom tipped effects still apply their effects to a player wearing these sets, so the changes do not override potion-based attacks.

The mod is a standalone Fabric mod that is managed through the PCKR Engine. It needs no other catalog mod and does not depend on Fabric API. Vanilla+ Armor runs on the client and the server, so both sides need it. Files are published for Fabric only, and the current release is 0.1.0 for 26.1.2, dated 2026-07-21. The mod is not open source, and it is released under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Chainmail projectile protection

A full set of chainmail armor grants complete protection against projectiles such as arrows.

  2. Turtle shell drowning reduction

Wearing the turtle shell helmet reduces drowning damage by 50 percent.

  3. Iron armor fall and sword protection

A full set of iron armor reduces fall damage by 20 percent and sword damage by 15 percent.

  4. Diamond armor effect reduction

A full set of diamond armor halves the duration of poison, wither, slowness and similar harmful effects.

  5. Netherite lava resistance

Netherite armor is protected from lava, so a wearer does not burn in it the way they would in vanilla armor.
