URAI is a client-side Fabric mod that sends chat messages to Google Gemini and posts the replies back into the game chat.
What it does
A player writes a chat message that starts with a set prefix, and the mod forwards the text after the prefix to the Google Gemini API. The reply appears in chat. Each request is made over HTTP from the player's own client, so the messages go to Google directly and not through a server.
Setup needs a personal Gemini API key, created in Google AI Studio and entered into the config. Mod Menu is optional but makes the config easier to reach. The config holds only the fields the mod needs to run, letting the player set whether it is on, the key, which model to query and how fast requests are sent. Gemini access depends on the account's region and plan, and some networks or firewalls block the API.
URAI is published for Fabric only, in a single build for 1.21.11, with the latest file 1.0.2 dated 2026-03-22. It has been available since 2026-01-06. The source code is public, while the mod itself is All rights reserved and not open source.
Key features
Prefix-triggered chat
Only chat messages that begin with the configured prefix are sent to Gemini, so ordinary chat is left alone.
Configurable model and limits
The model code, maximum response tokens and message delay can be changed in the config to control reply length and request pace.
Context and intro messages
A context message can be passed to Gemini as an optional system instruction, and an initial intro message can be sent automatically or by hand.
Model troubleshooting
If an API error appears, a different Gemini model code can be tried, since some models work where others do not.
