Sonic Cycle
by L33tfox
Sonic Cycle adds a Tron-inspired motorcycle that players can craft, place and ride, with its trail fed by a Warden's sonic shrieks.
What it does
The mod adds a light-cycle style vehicle inspired by the Light Cycles of the Tron series. Players build it from iron, a minecart and echo shards, place it on the ground and start riding. Its trail is powered by the sonic shriek a Warden produces, so the vehicle changes how that attack is used in play.
Creatures and players that cross the shriek trail left behind the cycle take damage. Holding the jump key while riding gives a speed boost, but it also makes sharp turns harder to take. A config file lets players adjust how far the cycle model tilts on screen, and shaders are a good match for the visuals. Optional dependencies are needed to reach that config screen.
The mod is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge on 1.21 and 1.21.1, and it runs on the client and the server, so both sides need it. Cloth Config API, Forgified Fabric API and Sinytra Connector are required dependencies, and the Fabric and Forge builds need the connector setup named in the install notes. The code is public, but the mod is all rights reserved and not open source.
Key features
Light-cycle vehicle
A motorcycle modeled on the Light Cycles from Tron can be ridden after it is placed in the world.
Sonic shriek trail
The cycle leaves a trail powered by the Warden's sonic shriek, and anything that walks into it takes damage.
Speed boost on jump
Holding the jump key while riding raises speed, and the boost makes sharp turns harder to take.
Configurable tilt
A config option sets how much the cycle model tilts on screen, and a config screen is available through Mod Menu.
